Guest Blog by Our Fluffy Family
Here at Seavista and The Lodge and The Loft we pride ourselves on inviting guests to bring their four-legged friends. with we love to meet dog-friendly like-minded souls and be inspired by their adventures and experiences during their stay. On the blog today Hannah and Jack from the popular lifestyle blog Our Fluffy Family share their time staying in The Lodge with their furry Shetland Sheepdog Polly.
Polly turned 2 on the 10th October and what better way to celebrate than a trip to her favourite destination, Cornwall! It was also a rather special week for both myself and Jack, as whilst down there we celebrated our birthdays too, so it was fluffy celebrations all round!
Sea Vista is situated in a fantastic area that is close to mine and Jacks hearts. Being on the hillside gives you the benefit of seeing views that are breathtakingly beautiful, it is impossible to be blasé whilst overlooking Mawgan Porth beach as it is simply sublime.
Sea Vista gave us the experience to view Mawgan Porth from a different perspective which will stay with us forever in our memories. It is the ultimate dog-friendly retreat for humans with pooches, whether seeking adventures or a calm getaway.
Positioned on the decking outside is a large table & chairs and two loungers which offer a serene escape, they’re the type where you say “I’ll just sit out here for few minutes” … One hour later.
Now I’m sure we’ve already mentioned that the views are stunning, but how on earth could you enjoy them even more, two words HOT…TUB. Sit back with your favourite beverage and gaze into pure elegance. It was so refreshing that after a chilly body boarding session our hot tub awaited us.
It even makes for a romantic evening star gazing in the Cornwall skies. A hot tub is a 5* facility and especially when the property allows four legged guests. Sea Vista honestly is a unique dream stay.
Sea Vista is the perfect place to chill out, the interior design of the lodge oozes modern glamour with colour schemes that bring the outside in. Rather than keeping everything minimalist and using copious amounts of black and white they have kept all interiors current and classic, however with that essential pop of colour.
From sea horse bedside lamps to lobster art and even a sailing ship, it’s these subtle influences that bring you the sense of your own unique space which really allows you to enjoy and appreciate where you are in each and every moment.
The lounge and kitchen space is open plan, featuring a dining table for four people (high chair is available for visitors with baby or young child). For pure comfort the lounge includes a beautifully blue double sofa and two single sofa chairs, which allow you to completely relax whilst keeping warm by the log burner, which is always an Our Fluffy favourite for a getaway stay.If you fancy reading or watching a film Sea Vista is the perfect place to do so, whilst listening to the calming ocean and breathing in the pure sea air. There are bi-fold doors which lead out onto the decking, so throughout the day you can have the soundtrack of the waves all day long.
The facilities throughout the lodge are second to none. The kitchen is state of the art including a pastel blue SMEG Fridge (Always wanted one of these at home). You have a microwave, oven, toaster and all your utensils and plates. But with Sea Vista providing you with that extra bit more, we arrived to find a beautiful hamper entailing some daily essentials bread, eggs & butter along with some very special treats such as a scrumptious Lemon Drizzle cake and a bottle of Champagne! The hamper even included some goodies for Polly and she LOVES Lily’s Kitchen. The sweetest and most thoughtful touch was the handwritten card which is a gesture that really made us feel special as guests. Kate definitely is the greatest host by far, whether that be B&B, Hotel or Self Catering accommodation she has just blown them all out of the water!
You also have a state of the art coffee maker, washing machine & dishwasher! In one cupboard it was rather a surprise to find all the condiments and daily necessities you would require for no extra cost.
Other facilities include a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, heating, bed linen, towels and the softest of dressing gowns. All essentials for a truly care free and relaxing experience.
The Lodge features two bedrooms, one of which is a super king and the other a king, both with en-suites including the luxurious Neal’s Yard toiletries. Both are extremely spacious so we were spoilt for choice as to which one we would choose, but of course the super king room won. Calming colours are everywhere, which are great for winding down and with a 5* quality mattress every nights sleep was pure bliss. What’s better than to wake up and start your day with a nutritious delicious breakfast?!
The menu at Sea Vista has something for everyone whether you are looking for a healthy option, or if you have the occasional naughty sweet tooth. I opted to go for the Superfood Porridge, which is made with coconut milk, coconut oil, nuts, chia seeds, goji berries and topped with blueberries and freshly picked pansies.
It was absolutely heavenly and such a good choice for the start of a busy day as the Porridge is packed full of Omega 3 fatty acids, not forgetting a variety of vitamins and minerals!
Jack decided to go for the Full Cornish Breakfast, which includes Kittow’s unsmoked Cornish back bacon, Kittow’s award winning pork sausages, traditional Cornish hogs or Cornish black pudding, Bre-Pen free range egg (which is sourced from a farm at the top of the hill). Jack choose to have his egg fried, slow roasted cherry tomatoes and field mushrooms are also included however, Jack isn’t a lover of mushrooms. He loved his breakfast, probably the best full English (Cornish) ever, scrumptious!
